Spring Internships

Internships will take place February 6 - May 5, 2023

Interns must commit to working 13 consecutive weeks: (12) at 25 hrs and (one) at 20 hrs.

2023 Internships may be in-person, hybrid or remote, depending on the opportunity, and are subject to change. As a condition of employment, the Academy Foundation will require all in-person or hybrid-work interns to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19. Reasonable accommodations will be considered.

The Foundation will offer paid, part-time internships to students who are currently enrolled in a college/university in the Greater Los Angeles Area (counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura). Students enrolled in Spring Semester in LA programs may also apply.


Categories

CASTING
Site: Studio casting department or office of casting director
Activities: Exposure to the casting process including arranging readings, heavy phones, clerical
Desirable background: Organizational and people skills. Knowledge of television, movies and theatre. Liberal Arts or Communication background, good memory.
Open to all class levels

DEVELOPMENT (Scripted)
Site: Studio or production company (may include children's programming or movies for television)
Activities: Observe and participate in the evaluation of scripted program ideas and literary material, selection of writers and oversight of script development.
Desirable background: Creative Writing, Literature, Theatre Arts, Liberal Arts, Communications
Open to all class levels

EDITING
Site: Studio or production company
Activities: Observe post production of episodic, reality, variety, TV movie or mini-series. Exposure to film/tape non-linear, color correction and motion graphics systems. Opportunities to sit with editors and learn how the offline process, online and color correction process, and deliverables process works.
Desirable background: Film and tape editing courses. All applicants required to upload a video link of work samples (no more than 5 min. in total.)
Open to all class levels

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
Site: Studio or production company. May be either episodic OR reality
Activities: Organizing, scheduling, and budgeting of productions, some production assistant and general office duties
Desirable background: TV/Film major, strong organizational and communication skills, Business background a plus
